Georgia law makes it illegal for news media or any other person to publish, broadcast, televise or disseminate through means of public dissemination originating in Georgia the name or identity of a famale who may have been raped or assaulted with the intent to rape.
There is an exception for publishing truthful information disclosed in public court documents which are open to public inspection.
This statute was declared unconstitutional in 2001 by Dye v. Wallace based on freedom of the press.
