Sean A. Black Completes NHTSA SFST Courses

March 9-13, 2004.  Atlanta.  Sean Black recently attended both the Practitioner and Instructor components of the Sean Black and Lance Platt during evening break from trainingStandardized Field Sobriety Testing (SFST) program promulgated by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.  The SFST's consist of the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus test, the Walk-and-Turn, and the One-Leg-Stand.  By completing both the 24-hour Practitioner course and the 40-hour Instructor course, Black has completed a higher level of SFST training that most officers in Northeast Georgia.  This training allows for greater insight into the handling of DUI cases where the SFST's are employed and those where non-standardized field sobriety tests are used.  The programs were taught by Walden, Platt & Associates of Bryan, Texas.
